We cultivate rooted healing through the embodied understanding that our inner and outer landscapes heal in relationship with one another.
what we do
We seek to deepen human kinship with the living landscapes at a paradigm-shifting level. We do this through transformational gatherings in nature, legal and safe psilocybin retreats, deep ecology, somatic and transpersonal courses and workshops, integrative programmes and a growing collection of nourishing resources. Our work meets at the intersection of ecology, spirituality and embodiment.
We honour a path of ancestral remembrance where we recognise that we all possess an ‘indigenous soul’ that longs for a deepened, more connected experience with life through a reverential state of ‘otherness’ and awe. We facilitate, support and empower individual and collective shifts in awareness that bring us back to our innate, most alive and aligned essence.
From a place of healing, we look to the root problems and explore the interconnected solutions we can create to actively deconstruct the worn-out colonial paradigm (modern fast-paced life). We deepen relationship, exploration and imagination - cross pollinating with projects, people, communities and our more-than-human kin, to co-create the world we wish to thrive in.
why we do it
Anyone with their eyes open can see and feel the social injustices, environmental despair and the human mental and physical health crisis. We cannot continue to exist in a state of ‘half life’ that surmises us to continue along a treadmill serving a system of wealth that only places perpetual capital growth as priority. The collective suffering of our sentient earth body requires radical individual and communal healing through transformed perspectives.
At the root of this amnesia, suffering and bewilderment lies our abandoned need for deep connection and belonging. It is from this void that the relentless hunger for something to fill our lives, whether through career, consumerism or addiction, can leave us living inauthentically.
We have experienced and witnessed the profound, life-affirming power of gathering together and immersing in embodied practices that reconnect us to our deepest, most alive sense of existence. A big part of this remembrance involves reconnecting to a feminine, cyclical approach to life that places rest, play and conscious action back into its needed equilibrium.
how we do it
We approach this work from many angles. We hold safe, legal and integrative psychedelic-assisted retreats with a strong focus on the crafting of ‘the village’, where the nervous system can remember what it means to belong. We are also passionate about crafting ceremonial soundscapes with live song, music and sounds, as taught to us by our initiated teachers. We hold ancestral immersive experiences in Wales, as well as occasional gatherings and workshops across Europe and a year long slow study programme exploring bioregional life-ways, eco-guardianship and the expansion of the ecological self. Our team’s multidisciplinary background weaves through the healing and creative arts, embodiment, shamanism and transpersonal psychology. No aspect of our humanness is suppressed, bypassed or neglected - we seek wholeness, inner-knowing, collective healing and empowerment.
Through embodied practice we deepen our capacity for presence, invoking a shift from mind patterns and blocks to full body sensitivity and aliveness. Embodiment also means to truly integrate our intention and learned experiences - as the ‘real work’ often starts after the peak encounter. We are learning the language of the body and in many ways, the instinctive, natural language of the soul.
“Everything, given time and nurturing, is moving toward balance and healing. The mushrooms that cleaned the land after nuclear trauma… the process of forest growth after a fire… the way our skin heals after a cut…stronger than before. Healing is organic, healing is our birthright.”
— Lisa Thomas Adeyemo
how we give back
We sponsor biodiversity + reforest. We are partnered with the future forest company, so every time you book to join a gathering or course, you sponsor biodiversity in Britain, from ancient growth forest to wildflower meadowland to wetland restoration, simultaneously protecting endangered species within them. We have also planted 100+ trees.
We fundraise for (and donate to) rooted projects. Our retreats in Mexico helped us raise close to $4k for the local eco-school and community healing centre, Saboja, in San Pancho, whose land was under threat from corporate domination. We are seeking to seed and strengthen long-lasting partnerships.
We give scholarships and partly funded spots to participants from disadvantaged backgrounds. We also have exchange opportunities, where we will support you to grow your offerings and skills.
We create free resources such as the Rooted Healing podcast and our journal, which is a passion project that weaves stories for our collective healing and imagination.
We inspire eco-guardianship through our online programmes and immersion ethos. Nature guides our work and we invite all to listen more deeply to what is being asked of us.
what we don’t do
Our gatherings, workshops and courses are not in service of unethical tourism. We cultivate experiences loyal to place with ongoing support that ignites profound life changes, collective healing and empowered community driven projects, whilst deeply respecting the land and people we gather with.
We do not focus on transcendence. Intimacy, connection, playfulness and reverence for life are our guiding sentiments. We celebrate an embodied existence that integrates the full complex dance of who we are and the world we are made from.
We do not practice, preach or impose any religion or particular spiritual belief. We often refer to our planet as sentient and our natural world as personified as we generally embody many ancestral or indigenous perspectives that feel the world to be animate; full of soul or spirit. There is no set idea of what soul or spirit is in our approach - only connecting to a shared experience of deepened inner resonance.
We do not pretend to have it all figured out. We simply show up, dare to contribute in whatever way feels in service of healing, togetherness, inspiration and thriving life. We commit to learning, integrating, listening and staying with the trouble, acknowledging our shared humanity and the space for err and growth.
